A guide to Colour Drenching

We’re bored of ‘less is more’, the more colour the better! This season we are embracing the recent trend of colour drenching. Life’s to short to live without colour, so why not put it everywhere! On the walls, the ceiling, the sofa and the floor, colour drenching is the trend we just can’t get enough off.

‘Colour Drenching is the trend where you saturate the whole room with same colour, we are talking skirting boards, doors and even radiators. Colour Drenching was made for those who want to add a bit more fun into their home, when done right it can be really effective.

So, here are our colour drenching tips!

Go Dark

If you’re a fan of everything cosy, drenching dark could be the look for you. If you love to feel warm and have a space that practically begs you to curl up, we recommend using Navy to colour drench your space.

The paint

To start, the paint. This one from Dunelm is deep, warm and perfect for this trend. Paint all 4 walls, the ceiling and if you want to go that extra mile, consider painting the door.

The sofa

Now the most important part, the sofa (we're biased). For a dark, navy look we recommend going with our family friendly chenille, Nordic Fjord.

Retro Red

If you’re a vintage lover, you’ll be pleased to know that red is back. Bright, bold and bursting with character, drenching with red is a sure way to make a stylish statement in your home.

The paint

Our favourite red paint for this trend is Monarch from Dulux. Its deep, rich and rosy, pop this paint all over your walls and ceiling for a fully drenched look.

The sofa

For the sofa, we love our Burmese Ruby fabric for a red drenched room. Packed with jewel tones and composed of soft velvet, Burmese Ruby is the perfect red.

Stoney Neutrals

If you love the colour drenching trend, but you’re not a fan of the bold and bright, you can still take part. A room drenched in stoney neutrals can make just as much of an impact as something brighter.

The paint

The best stoney neutral paint to drench your walls in is Coat’s Cold Brew. It’s cool, sophisticated and full bodied. We recommend going all out with this paint, even drench the skirting!

The sofa

Our Quiet Fawn fabric is the perfect pairing against Cold Brew, for a fully neutral drench. Plus, Quiet Fawn is one of our opulent velvet-like fabrics, perfect for snuggling up on.

Sunshine Yellow

If you’re a fan of the sunnier side of life, why not drench yellow? We know how intimidating yellow can seem, but when done right, a yellow room can be super stylish and pack so much joy into your home.

The paint

Our favourite yellow paint to bring some sunshine to your walls is this year's Dulux Colour of the Year, True Joy. This shade needs no introduction, its bright, its bold, its sunshine trapped in paint form.

The sofa

For a yellow sofa, there’s no better fabric than our fluffy bouclé , Golden Key. It’s impossible to look at this fabric without smiling. And who wouldn’t want that for their living room!

That’s all for our colour-drenching tips, we hope you have fun playing with colour!
