Hotel Lounges

There’s nothing more satisfying than sitting in the surroundings of a beautifully designed hotel, sipping on a cocktail or indulging in a delicious cream tea. Hotel lounges range from laid back places in which to relax to amazingly sophisticated design feats! We’ve chosen some of our favourites, and shown how you can get the look of a luxury hotel in your own home...

Modern Hotel Lounges

MODERN

Modern, design-led hotels can sometimes be style over substance, but we’ve found some great lounges that combine modern elegance with the comfort factor. We love the mint velvet corner sofa in the Murmuri Hotel - the added scatters in matching velvet add extra comfort. The high backed sofas in the Ovolo Hotel are stunning modern design that give guests comfort and privacy.

Modern Hotel Lounges

Achieve the look of modern luxury with the Lola Corner End Sofa upholstered in a pale pastel such as Herringbone - Kitten Whiskers. Put your feet up and enjoy a delicious Espresso Martini - find out how to make one on Jamie Oliver's website.

Traditional Hotel Lounges

TRADITIONAL

The English country-house look is popular in both traditional hotels and newly built hotels that are looking to create a feeling of formality and heritage. The Pig in the Wall hotel in Southampton has embraced a real country feel with distressed leather chairs and traditional paintings hung on Farrow & Ball painted walls. The Palace Hotel in Tokyo has dressed it’s Tea Lounge with classically inspired furniture in muted tone to create a formal yet relaxed setting.

Traditional Hotel Lounges

Choose a classic sofa shape in a dark, neutral fabric to get the traditional look. We love the Rose Sofa upholstered in Family Friendly Basket Weave - Wolf Paw. Enjoy a classic Whiskey Sour cocktail whilst beating your other half in a game of cards! Esquire have got a classic Whiskey Sour recipe here.

Vintage Hotel Lounges

From left to right: The Soho House Hotel, Istanbul. The Ham Yard Hotel, London. The Mondrian Hotel, London. Hôtel Particulier, Paris

VINTAGE

The elegant, vintage look can be found in many hotel lounges. Retro style furniture upholstered in velvet or vintage inspired patterns gives the feel of relaxed sophistication. The vibrant pink chairs at The Ham Yard Hotel look great sat opposite the black floral sofas and tie in with the eclectic lighting display. If you’re taste is slightly less eccentric, take inspiration from the subdued pastel shades found in The Soho House Hotel.

Vintage Hotel Lounges

Vintage style isn’t afraid of a splash of colour! We think our Florence Sofa looks amazing upholstered in Tweedy Weave - Fox Glove. Go retro with a classic French 75 cocktail - made popular again by Mad Men. You can find out how to make one on The Independent's website.
