A Perfect Pairing
Jay Blades and our sister brand G Plan felt like a natural fit, an exclusive collaboration strengthened by a shared passion for contemporary design, distinctive style and timeless craftsmanship. G Plan has always featured heavily throughout Jay’s journey. In his book “Making it” Jay talks about his early days in renovating preloved furniture, mentioning in particular a classic G Plan chair that he picked up, from a garage sale in Wolverhampton, for £40 - which kickstarted a passion for hunting for the old, and giving it a new lease of life. And, to this day Jay continues to reupholster and share his love for G Plan furniture.

G Plan can trace their roots back to 1898 when Ebenezer Gomme established ‘The Gomme Furniture Company’. His grandson Donald then founded G Plan in 1953. G Plan is well loved for its Mid-Century British furniture and produced many of the iconic designs that restorers like Jay enjoy bringing back to life.
How it Started
Jay worked with the G Plan design team to create a range of sofas, chairs and footstools that blended G Plan’s furniture expertise with Jay’s signature creativity and flair. Each shape was carefully chosen to include unique design details, clever fabric placement and most of all, blissful comfort. Jay’s expertise also came into its own when curating a stunning collection of fabrics; a contemporary selection of bold plains and vibrant accents that would bring the Jay Blades x G plan furniture to life.

Jay Blades and G Plan have combined their expertise to curate a range of bold, beautiful fabrics which complement the stunning craftsmanship of the pieces in the collaboration. Choose from vibrant velvets, contemporary tweeds and designer patterns with a retro-twist. Many of the models in the Jay Blades x G Plan collection can feature accent fabrics alongside main colours in a ’two colour story'.
